We want nothing more than for your stay at Hairy Lemon to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. To keep our little
Island paradise running and to keep our visitors happy requires a lot of work and planning since we do not have mains power and are only accessible by boat. The
Island is powered by solar and gas and all of our essential supplies are at least an hour away. This is why is why it is essential to make a reservation before visiting us and why we are not open to day visitors, who are inclined to drop in unannounced! We hope that the information and FAQ sections below can help you better plan your visit to us. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
ALL MEALS at Hairy Lemon are Buffet Style. Due to the limitations of keeping supplied there is no A La Carte option here. Basically, we cook what we cook, and you all eat it! Coffee and Tea are available anytime after our bar/dining areas open at 8:00 AM. Please let us know if you have any special food needs (such as food allergies or vegetarian preferences) before arrival so we can make sure that you are catered for. Please be aware that it is our policy not to discount prices should you choose not to eat the three meals a day you have paid for. If you need an extra meal (such as two lunches on a one night stay) these cost an additional 5000 Ush. Please be aware: self-catering is not an option on the Island!
We make an effort to ensure that our bar is stocked with a reasonably comprehensive range of alcoholic beverages. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol to the
Island , but please be aware that if you do so you will incur a 6000 Ush corkage fee per person.
The only access to the
Island is by our wood boat ferry. The last ferry crosses at 6:00 PM. There is no access to the
Island after this time. In the event of a medical emergency we can make a crossing but only for an emergency. Please plan accordingly.
Water activities abound on
Hairy
Lemon
Island , but due to safety reasons we do not provide any kayaking or boating equipment of any kind for hire. For all activities of this nature you will need to bring your own equipment. We can arrange kayaking lessons for you if you let us know ahead of time. Contact us to discuss options and we will be happy to make plans for you. There is a water volleyball net in the inlet swimming hole and balls are available for use.
